Ancient Secret of Content Writing - Issue #16
From Antiquity to Excellence: The Ancient Wisdom That Powers Modern Content Writing
I see a lot of entrepreneurs, business owners, and marketers make the assumption for their audience, you see. When you start doing that, you begin to fail. Let me put this in terms that we can both understand, in terms of money. "On average, five times as many people who read the headline as read the content copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your one dollar". -David Ogilvy.
Now let me break it down for us
RULE ONE: Create A Captivating Conspiracy
It is not enough just to get their attention and sell the benefit of your offer. We also need to engage your audience's interest and have their curiosity burning. The best way to do that is to switch up the conspiracy, a great way to create a captivating conspiracy is by using words like 'MUST', 'SHOCKING', 'ALARMING', 'SECRET', 'HORROR', 'CONFESSION!', 'WON'T TELL YOU', 'EXPOSED!', 'REVEALED', If you want a downloadable additional list of Power Word to get you started comment below.
RULE TWO: Make Use Of Numbers
Numbers give your prospects an attachable object or logical idea to wrap their head around. Number usage also layout a structure that the readers instantly know will be easy to follow, and also easier for you to write as the creator. Would you rather read: "5 things you must know for hiring a wedding planner" or "Helpful information about hiring a wedding planner"? obviously, 99% of readers will want to read the first content.
so let's try it for your business:
' 7 Things You Must Know Before Hiring a Financial Planner '
' 11 Major Things The Photographer Would Tell You Before The Party '
' 8 Big Mistakes No Web Designer Would Dare Tell You '
It doesn't matter what industry you are in, this is copy and paste.
RULE THREE: Show Them What They Stand To Gain
Your content should ultimately be about them and their desired outcome. Your prospect needs and wants an immediate benefit and the key is to write about them and not about you. Show them how they will learn simple tips that will help solve their problem. Show them what their desired outcome looks like, and educate them on how to get there. That's the payoff you get in exchange for their email address.
